Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national association representing 25,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms in 79 chapters across the United States. ABC's membership represents all specialties within the U.S. construction industry and is comprised primarily of firms that perform work in the industrial and commercial sectors of the industry. |

The Builders & Contractors Exchange was founded in 1908 by a group of far-sighted members of the construction industry to "bring the various branches of the construction industry closer in touch with each other." As the first president, Mr. E. D. Hobbs stated then, the Exchange will "bring about cooperation and a general uplifting of the business." Today, the objective of the Exchange has not changed. |

The Virginia Society of Healthcare Engineers is the local chapter affiliated with the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE).
